I had a hard drive fail on me recently, which just happened to be the drive with a whole lot of itunes music and videos on it. Being as clever as I am, I contacted Seagate’s Data Recovery department and talked to one of their technicians who revealed the basic cost would be $1700!
Being as clever as I am again, I contacted Apple’s ITMS department and told them what had happened, and could they help me somehow. Well, the next day I awoke to a nice email from an Apple employee who had re-enabled all my purchases for redownloading. Spiffy!
I then finally emailed my story to a consumer-based website where good stories and bad are discussed daily. Mine was included for publishing, right here.
